Don’t you just love it when your friends invite you to cool events? I sure do! My bestie invited me to accompany her to a brand event, and we ended up watching a movie in bed at a luxury “movie theater” here in NYC! And yes, it’s as cozy as it sounds.
I still can’t believe she thought I’d rather go on a date with some random man on my birthday than to see Hocus Pocus (one of her favorite movies) with HER! Chile! I’m single single, but not insane! And I’m SO glad I picked Hocus Pocus because this luxury theater was pretty cool.
It honestly just felt like one big adult sleepover!
Here’s Where You Can Find This Luxury Movie Theater In NYC

So the luxury “movie theater” is located in …
The Fouquet’s New York Hotel!
And it’s unlike any other movie theater I’ve ever been to. (Which is probably because it’s technically a “screening room” and not a full-blown movie theater! But same difference, babes!)
Instead of rows of recliners, the front row features actual beds! With pillows! And yes, it’s only the front row! The rest of the room has stylish, comfy chairs and cozy love seats in the back, which are equally as cute. But since we got there early, naturally, I ran straight for the beds!
This may also be the first time I’ve ever run to sit in the front row to watch ANY movie.

If you’re wondering how comfortable the beds are and if they’re plus-size friendly …
I got you!
As a plus-size girlie myself, I was happy about being able to fit on the bed. But as per usual, the seats aren’t really THAT big, so it wasn’t as comfortable as the deep, plush recliners you’d find in other luxury movie theaters like AMC Dolby or iPic. It’s definitely manageable, but I can see these weren’t made for bigger bodies. (But that’s pretty much the same at most movie theaters, huh?)
That said, I still loved the experience of being able to lie down and watch a movie with my friend. I even got to put my feet up and stretch out a little.

Okay … it’s cute and all, but what’s the luxury movie theater with beds experience really like?
The space itself is gorgeous — soft lighting, gold accents, and that chic hotel scent that makes you feel like you’ve made it in life.
The only thing I found a little odd was keeping my shoes on in bed. My brain just couldn’t compute it! I wanted to take them off so bad!! But of course I was out in public! So the whole time my brain was just like … please keep your shoes off this bed girl! Blame it on my Caribbean parents or whatever.
Also, the screening room (as usual) was cold! Just like a normal movie theater, huh?
So I’m grateful we got blankets! So between the blanket, the lighting, and the bed, it really did feel like watching a movie at home! If “home” were a $1,500-a-night hotel room where you could invite your friends to watch with you?
Even the bathrooms are super pretty, since they’re inside this really nice hotel. (The bathrooms have sinks inside the stalls, and outside of the stalls!)

What I loved about this luxury movie theater (and what I’d change) …
Loved:
- The option for cozy beds or plush seating
- The luxe, intimate atmosphere
- The love seats in the back, perfect for date night
- The joy of watching a movie in bed, all while still sharing the experience with others
What Could Change:
- The beds could be a bit larger and more plus-size friendly
- The screen was a pull-down (like an old conference room) instead of a built-in theater screen, which makes it feel a little less luxurious

Would I visit this luxury movie theater again?
Absolutely! Despite the screen and bed size, I’d totally watch another movie here!
But next time, I want to try their Cannes Cinema Dinner & a Movie event! Tickets cost around $165 each, so it’s definitely a splurge. But I’m curious to see if the full experience (with dinner included) feels worth the luxury price tag! Especially since that price doesn’t feel too far off from the murder mystery dinner I attended at the Carmine’s NYC Restaurant a few months ago.
Now the only question left is … how can I get dressed up for dinner, and watch this movie in pajamas? And will it be frowned upon if I bring a change of clothes, and change in the bathroom?
Those seats truly deserve a comfortable outfit!

So yeah …
If you’re looking for a unique movie night experience in New York City, this is it. Fouquet’s blends luxury with cozy, intimate comfort. The kind of place you can sip champagne, snuggle under a blanket, and pretend you live in a rom-com. And it’s definitely worth a visit!
Escapism Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
A luxe escape from reality, perfect for movie lovers.
What It Helps You Forget: The chaos of city life? (At least until the lights come back on).
Why It’s the Perfect Escape: Because there’s something oddly healing about watching a movie in bed, surrounded by strangers who are also pretending they live in a $1,500 suite.

This looks so chill but how did you not fall asleep?! I fear I would be too comfy
I was too excited! I’m sure if this was one of those after work screenings I would have passed out. Especially since I’ve seen the movie a few times.
