Marvel released the new Shang Chi trailer yesterday and I was in such a funk I didn’t even bother checking it out to share my reaction. I know, I know, I suck. But sometimes I have weird days and I just don’t feel like writing or watching anything that needs to be reviewed.
HOWEVER … from the moment this movie was announced, I was super excited because um … hello, there’s an Asian cast here! While I was a tad bit disappointed by Raya and the Last Dragon (which also has a full Asian cast), Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings looks promising!
But what do I think of the new Shang Chi trailer? Here are my thoughts below …
Shang Chi Trailer Reaction
From the moment this trailer starts, the music hits me in the feels! Like the music hits and cues themselves are FIRE!
Yes, Awkwafina’s annoying self is in here, but I mean her role seems like it won’t annoy me as much as it did in Raya and the Last Dragon? I guess we can hope! ‘Cause I’m not about to let her (and her voice) ruin this for me!
And the title sequence in this trailer is soooo dope! I love it!
But I don’t get why no one is talking about the music in this! It’s SO good, and yet I haven’t seen anyone talk about it!
Of course, this sparked my decision to finally start up my “Snacks and Soundtracks” podcast, so I talk about this in my first episode below.
But I’m super glad I watched this trailer today! Now I’m even more excited to watch this movie!
Which of course comes out like the week before my birthday so yay!
If you haven’t watched the trailer yet …
