You can watch “The Sandman” series on Netflix pretty freaking soon, as the release date is quickly approaching. Well more quickly than it was before, as we still don’t have a release date just yet. But the series was announced last year at Netflix’s “Tudum” event! So I mean, it’s closer than before mate.
But as we all know … I’m not a big fan of series that look like they’ll creep me out. So I’m on the edge about watching this one. But as my Geeks with Popcorn contributor writer Josh, prepares to fully geek out about this new series … I noticed 4 things.
So here are …
4 Reasons You Need To Watch “The Sandman” On Netflix

1. Kirby Howell-Baptise
Who killed in “Cruella”, and also stars in “Killing Eve” and “Queenpins”.

2. Vivienne Acheampong
Who also stars in “The Witches” and “The One” on Netflix.

3. Kyo Ra
A young actress, in her breakout role as Rose Walker.

4. Ansu Kabia
Who also stars in “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw“.

Yup! Dassit.
Those are your reasons!
Ain’t nothing else needed to be said, to convince me to watch “The Sandman” on Netflix, if I’m being honest. I mean I love Kirby enough to wanna watch this just to see her character. And I’m always down to watch new Black faces on screen.
But if you’re still not convinced.
Here are a few more less important reasons to watch “The Sandman” …
- “The Sandman” is a new dark fantasy Netflix series based on “The Sandman” comic book series created for DC by Neil Gaiman (“Good Omens”, “Coraline”).
- Gaiman is also an Executive Producer and Co-Writer.
- The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.
Oh, and here’s what “The Sandman” series will be about …
A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, “The Sandman” follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic–and human–mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.
I don’t have a damn clue what any of that means y’all, since I haven’t read the comics, but just know I’m rooting for everyone Black!
So yeah. If you’re down to watch, and excited to learn more, keep your eyes out for more news and articles by Josh Martin over on Geeks with Popcorn.
