Listen, when I heard Sterling K. Brown was starring in Hulu’s upcoming series Paradise — baby my mind was already made up — I NEED to watch this ASAP! I literally ran into the Black Disney Moms Facebook group to let them know our fave would be “getting his own show” and now I’m just sitting here waiting for the series to drop!
Sterling is one of those actors who brings unmatched depth and complexity to every role he plays, making any project he’s part of an absolute must-watch. Plus, he’s one of my fave actors, and did y’all know he’s a really good singer too? Yup, I had the pleasure of randomly hearing him sing while we were at the Frozen 2 premiere in LA. And of course, I was standing right next to him, so I made sure to tell him he had a nice singing voice.
But anywho, that’s not what you’re here for, so let’s get back to the point! There’s really only ONE reason you need to watch Paradise on Hulu—but if you need a little more convincing, I’ve got a few extra reasons below.
The Only Reason You Need To Watch Paradise On Hulu?

Sterling K. Brown. That’s it. That’s the reason.
Did you think I was going to say something else? Chile!
If you’ve seen him in This Is Us, Black Panther, or The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, you already know he’s a powerhouse performer. Sterling doesn’t just play a character—he becomes the character, drawing viewers into the story with raw emotion and charisma.
In Paradise, Sterling portrays a character who’s closely tied to the President, adding a layer of political intrigue to an already compelling series. And watching thee Sterling K. Brown navigate the tension and drama of this high-stakes world is reason enough for me to clear my calendar on January 28!
But In Case That’s Not Enough To Convince You …
1. The Trailer Has Me Hooked
Hulu recently dropped the official trailer for Paradise, and it looks like we’re getting a high-adrenaline show with lots of twists, secrets, and jaw-dropping moments.
2. Scandal Fans, I Think This One’s For Us
With Sterling’s character being so close to the President, I can’t help but think about Kerry Washington’s iconic role as Olivia Pope. So if you’ve been missing the high-tension drama, powerful performances, and intricate storytelling of Scandal, Paradise might just fill that void.
3. James Marsden Joins the Cast
Sterling isn’t the only familiar face in Paradise. James Marsden, known for his roles in Sonic and Dead to Me, also stars in the series. Marsden’s ability to bring charm and complexity to his characters adds another layer of intrigue to the show. The combination of these two powerhouse actors is enough reason to hit play.
4. A Murder Mystery with a Twist
Set in a wealthy community, Paradise explores what happens when perfection is shattered by tragedy. The murder investigation promises shocking secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end.
But Wait … What Is Paradise Actually About?
Paradise is set in an exclusive, serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But the tranquility is short-lived when a shocking murder occurs, igniting a high-stakes investigation. As secrets unravel and tensions rise, this drama promises to captivate audiences from start to finish.
Paradise promises a thrilling storyline, unforgettable performances, and enough twists to keep you hooked.
