Did I Tell Y’all How Much I Hate This New Mulan Movie And It’s Stupid Trailer?

Disney released a trailer for their new Mulan movie a few days ago and I get annoyed just thinking about it! Tanay (from Black Girl Views) and I discussed the new trailer live on our new Facebook Live show, Pass That Popcorn, (which will air once a week, every Wednesday at 12pm on our new Facebook page) last week, so if you haven’t seen that video yet, please watch it.

So how do I feel about this new Mulan movie?

As if it weren’t apparent enough in my title …

I don’t like this shit!

I don’t like it one bit!

Where TF is Mushu? Y’all think I wanna watch a stupid ass Mulan movie without Mushu in it? How can you take away my FAVORITE character of all time and expect me to be happy? Pfft!

GIVE. ME. MUSHU!

Also … this clearly went from a funny, animation, to an intense, live action movie and I’m not sure how I feel about that either. I LIVE for comedies! It’s why I LOVED Mulan. All those silly lines, and quick jabs and … you guessed it … MUSHU! That’s what I remember when I think of Mulan. “They’re popping up LIKE DAISIES”, is still something I say til this very day!

So to have that ripped away from me … I just … I just can’t! *cries dramatically*

Also … she ain’t cut her friggin hair and I’m STILL confused on how they couldn’t tell she was a damn girl! She LOOKS like a damn GIRL! Are y’all blind? Ugh!

This entire movie rubs me the wrong way … but if we stopped calling it a Mulan remake and say it’s an intense, action packed film inspired by Mulan instead, I wouldn’t hate it so much.
