Like, WTF is going on right now? Is she even serious?

Tina Fey is really making another Mean Girls movie, inspired by the Mean Girls musical, that was freaking inspired by the movie?

Do y’all even hear this shit? Lol

Out here sounding as ridiculous as the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. *sigh* (Which was surprisingly good by the way.)

Before she kills me for not giving her the credit she deserves, since she’s the one that put that clever “Mean Girls: The Musical: The Movie” title together. Lol

But whatever, back to the real matter at hand here.

I’m not even gonna lie right now, I’m upset!

I totally saw this email come in earlier and brushed it off because I couldn’t possibly think of a reason that the Mean Girls Broadway musical would be announcing MAJOR news today. At least nothing important enough that I would have to stop writing to check it out instantly.

Boy was I f*cking wrong!

Apparently the “producers of the Broadway hit Mean Girls (which I actually saw last here – review of Mean Girls on Broadway here) announced today that the musical is now set to be adapted to a major motion picture from Paramount Pictures.”

Like, before y’all do this shit can y’all just explain to me WHY?

The new film will be produced by Lorne Michaels and Tina Fey.

The script will be written by Fey, of course, and feature music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin. Not that ANY of that matters right now!

I’m really just tryna wrap my head around why there’s a movie being made about the Mean Girls musical, when the musical was made from the Mean Girls movie!

Are folks really running out of ideas for new movies? Cause I’m pretty sure I can help with that, if that’s the problem here. 

Producer Lorne Michaels said, “It has been a joy to work on Mean Girls and to watch it go from film, to musical, and now to musical film.”

Sir, are you serious? *face palm* This shit is ridiculous!

Tina Fey also said that, “[she’s] very excited to bring Mean Girls back to the big screen”, and that “they are [her] Marvel Universe and [she] loves them dearly.”

Sis, I can’t even take you seriously right now and now you’re talking about the Marvel Universe? Ugh! Just … let me finish having this moment. Cause I can’t believe I’m the only one flipping out right now.

And the fact that this is trending right now on Twitter! I think I need to take my ass to bed. Maybe I’m just tired and seeing things?

I mean, does this mean that I’m not gonna see the new movie when it comes out, when ever that is?

Yeah, of course not! Lol I’m gonna be sitting right there in the movies with my popcorn in one hand and bottle of tequila in the other, with the rest of you. But I’m still highly confused as to why right now. Lol

Anywho, more details to be announced! I’ll keep you guys updated! (Maybe this time I’ll check my emails when they come in instead of just ignoring them. Lol)
