Aw Shit, I Just Watched Netflix’s YOU Season 2 Trailer And Now I’m Scared

Yes, yes, we all know that Netflix’s hit series YOU is coming back this month, but I’m not gonna lie … I didn’t expect the season 2 trailer to be this crazy! You know how they say silence is deadly? That’s what the YOU season 2 trailer reminds me of! There’s no big bangs, or creepy “horror music”. It’s just a quiet, mellow song playing while we try to figure out why his hands are FULL OF BLOOD! Who did he KILL!

Okay honestly, I’ve watched the YOU season 2 trailer twice so far and a few things stand out …

• his PERFECT credit score
• Candice’s return
• this new girl’s name
• how perfect the trailer is (especially the musicality of the cuts and the song choice)

So of course his credit score is perfect …

To be a killer, you NEED to make sure you don’t LOOK or seem like a killer. Having a great credit score makes it so easy for him to go wherever he pleases! It’s a nice added touch to this story, I’m not gonna lie.

But it may be a trigger in the future, when I’m dating, and a guy comes around with a 800 score! Lol Sir, what have YOU been up to? Lol (I feel sorry for men now! They’re really gonna be scrutinized a LOT more on dates. Lol)

However Candice’s return is a tad bit sketchy to me …

Like is she REALLY even alive or is he making this all up in his head? And … if she IS alive, is SHE the one killing now? Because wouldn’t that be a lovely little plot twist for Season 2! Lol

I don’t think she’s real though … the way they shot the scene where they’re talking makes it seem like she’s just his guilty conscious eating at him or something! (As if he has one! Lol)

But um … is anyone else smiling at the irony of this new girl’s name?

They named her LOVE? Seriously! Lol Ain’t that cute! (And a perfect name and symbol for what this entire show stands for.)

If you’ve NEVER seen YOU before (which lord help you if you haven’t lol) the show is about how a bookstore manager (Joe) crosses paths with an aspiring writer.

Using the internet and social media as his tools Joe gathers intimate details to find ways to get close to her. A charming and awkward crush quickly becomes a full blown obsession as Joe quietly and strategically removes every obstacle – and person – in his way of love.

So yeah … now you can kinda see why this new girl’s name is so ironic! Lol

The trailer really is perfect though!

Like, the way the Black Widow trailer was perfect for it’s genre, is the same way this YOU trailer is perfect!

The song choice is subtle, mellow but eerie, and ends the trailer perfectly with the last line of the song being “I’m a creep”.

PLUS there’s a part of the trailer where it quickly flashes different scenes of the show and the cuts are SO perfectly lined up with the hits in the music it’s ridiculous! (Something I wanted to do for my own project a few years ago when I went to school for music and had to add sound to a movie clip.)

So yeah … it’s pretty freaking amazing! Lol

YOU Season 2 comes to Netflix on December 26th.

So I hope you’re all caught up! I can’t wait to binge this all in one day and then be sad when it’s over before the week even ends. Lol Are YOU excited?
