From the minds behind “Searching ” comes “Missing”, a thrilling roller-coaster mystery that makes you wonder how well you know those closest to you. It’s the first film I had the pleasure of screening in 2023, and still one of my absolute favorites.
The insanely entertaining thriller, stars two of my faves — Storm Reid (who plays June) and Nia Long (who plays her mom). And when her mother randomly disappears during a vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, June is left broken and desperate for answers.
Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June, in true Gen Z fashion, creatively uses what she knows to find her mom before it’s too late. But as she digs deeper and deeper, her digital sleuthing raises more questions than answers, and when June unravels secrets about her mom, she discovers that she never really knew her at all.
Trust me when I say, you do not want to miss out on this one, okay! “Swarm” on Prime Video was great and all, but there’s just something about those plot twists in “Missing” that I absolutely loved. This one had me on the edge of my seat, screaming at the screen in theaters, the entire time! And just when you think you’ve finally figured it all out, it switches up one last time for an ending I can confidently say — no one was expecting!
