Should You Buy Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 For Your Nintendo Switch? A Non-Gamer’s Review

So, Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 was released earlier this month, on Nov 5th, and even though we had it a few days before the release date thanks to Sega’s PR team, with my trip to cali for The Geekly Retreat that same week, and us needing a few days to test the game out, I couldn’t get this review up on release day.

BUT … that doesn’t mean that Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 isn’t awesome! Cause it is. Especially for someone like me, who’s a non-gamer most of the time.

I mean … I grew up on Mario and Sonic, so when I got the chance to test out this new game I was totally down! I’m normally not a gamer, but I’ve wanted the Nintendo Switch since it was first announced. So we bought one a few weeks ago, and I haven’t been disappointed at all!

What I Thought Of Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

There’s a lot of different games to play, but beware … some of these are super fun and competitive and some of them are hard and borderline frustrating! My daughter and I tried dream shooting, and I was so damn confused for the first few rounds. Lol We also tried equestrian (horse jumping) and that was just a complete disaster! Lol

And don’t even get me started on gymnastics! Why is the game as hard as the actual sport? Shesh! Lol But games like … swimming, 100m, and table tennis were extremely fun to play together.

Overall, it’s a great game to play when I wanna spend a few minutes with her in between working sessions at home, or even when my daughter just needs something else to do aside from binge-watching shows all day. We haven’t played it on the TV yet, so that’ll be another great way to play with her grandparents as well, but for someone who doesn’t spend a whole lot of time gaming, this is perfect!
