If You Haven’t Watched Anne With An E On Netflix Yet You Should

Is Anne With An E On Netflix Any Good?

Is Anne With An E On Netflix Any Good? Here Are My Thoughts Below

I’m not gonna lie, despite being a fan of Anne of Green Gables, I was reluctant to watch Anne With An E when it came out because I didn’t think it would be good.

I loved the show when I was younger, but for some reason, I just assumed it would be the same kiddie show it once was and so I passed on it.

There’s way too much shit on Netflix for me to sit here and watch a kiddie remake of Anne of Green Gables. I’m sorry y’all! Lol

But then people started messaging me and asking if I had watched it yet. Lol

I’m not sure WHY people were asking, but they were and so I promised everyone that I would check it out. Well, I watched the first episode of Anne With An E on Netflix last night and I was blown away at how good it was! I love it already.

Is Anne With An E On Netflix Any Good

The first episode of Anne With An E isn’t just good, it’s amazing.

I don’t really remember much from the old show, but I don’t remember it being this good! Lol It was just something we watched on TV because we didn’t have cable honestly. But from the moment I started watching the first episode, I was captivated and already regretting not watching this show sooner.

Anne is an incredible actress and the show takes you on an emotional roller coaster.

Flipping back and forth, from present time to Anne’s past, of the time she’s spent with other families, this new take on Anne living in Green Gables gives more insight on how hard Anne’s life really was before she moved.

I especially love Anne’s flashbacks and how they’re triggered by small things like a teacup or a baby crying. Of course, they’re not happy flashbacks so don’t think this is a happy go lucky show, it’s not.

Anne With An E is much more intense than Anne Of Green Gables.

And it’s clear that they made this for an older crowd, which I love.

However, this is a lot darker than the older show so be careful if you’re trying to watch this with kids. I’m not done with episode one yet, but so far this is a bit too depressing for my 7-year-old.

P.s – I hate Marilla’s friend as much as Anne hates her! Lol And she deserved what she got! I don’t care! Fight me. Adults need to learn to stop being assholes just because they’re older and THINK they deserve more respect.

So yeah, I’m gonna finish Anne on Netflix and see what kind of trouble she gets herself into. Thank you to everyone that told me to watch this!

Look at y’all influencing the influencer. Lol

After I watch a few more episodes I’ll probably add this to my Netflix recommendations post. I can’t see a life where I’ll end up hating this now. Especially since so many people are begging for more seasons.

Clearly it gets better right? I guess we’ll see!

Have you seen Anne With An E yet?

  1. Thank you for this lovely review! Anne With an E is my favorite show, and yes, it just gets better as you go. Season 3 will blow you away! You might have been asked to react to the show because thousands of us are working to get a season 4 right now. The creator planned 5 seasons, but Netflix and CBC couldn’t play nice together, and announced its cancellation the day after the final episode of S3 aired on CBC (Nov.25). This surprised the cast and crew – they were expecting 5 seasons, and heard the news the same day as the fans.
We’ve coordinated billboards in Toronto, NYC Times Square, and Phoenix, tweeted our fingers off, and done a TON of free marketing for Netflix before the Jan.3 worldwide release of S3. We also have over 190,000 signatures on a petition to renew at https://www.change.org/p/netlfix-cbc-disney-and-awae-fans-renew-anne-with-an-e-for-season-4
If you continue to watch, and agree that it’s a tragedy to end the series in the middle, please sign and share the petition. And join us at #renewannewithane on Twitter. The fandom is lovely!

    • I’ve noticed about the fandom! I’ll definitely do that! I’m gonna finish watching and write a full review of the show and keep sharing. Thanks so much for all the info! I was only told a little bit of what happened but this clears things up! Thanks so much!
