What I Think About The Gretel and Hansel Trailer
Listen, I turned the volume down for this shit.
I’m not f*cking playing with y’all! Lol If the title wasn’t enough warning for y’all, then I don’t know what else y’all want me to say! But um …
I don’t like horror at ALL! Lol
Y’all lucky I went out to see the Us movie (which I loved by the way, review here). However, I really wanted to watch this shit because I grew up on the fairytale.
Also, clearly because I’m foolish! Lol
But since I KNOW that horror is extremely driven by sound, I turned my ish ALL the way down before I hit play. Lol
Have you ever watched something scary with no sound? Shit really ain’t that bad honestly. Lol Horror loses it’s power when the sound is taken away. Mostly because you have no clue what’s coming next.
You’re not sitting there waiting for something to jump out at you, because of music cues, it kinda just happens, and you’re okay. Lol
So yeah, I turned it down first! And if you’re a punk like me, I suggest you do the same. Lol But it wasn’t THAT bad so I ended up turning it back up some.
Keyword: some. Not ALL the way.
I’m not stupid! (Okay, I know that’s a little unclear right now since I hate horror and I put myself through this, but whatever, take my word for it won’t ya. Lol)
Anywho, this looks like it’s gonna be good, if I can stomach it.
I mean, I’ve always loved the story and how stupid the kids were! Lol (Like you really just finna go in somebody house, bruh? Stoopid ass! Lol)
And I’ve always heard that this wasn’t supposed to be a happy go lucky story, because it was a grim fairy tale, not a Disney princess fairy tale. But the trailer makes this look like it’s gonna be freaky GOOD!
Good enough that I may have to ask someone to take me to see this! If they promise to hold my hand the entire time and not judge me when I jump outta my seat. Cause I’m pretty sure that’s bound to happen at least once.
And even better if he smells good so I can lie about why I’m burying my face into his neck, pretending to sniff, while I close my eyes for a little bit. Shit! Lol
But um, hold up real quick … is the name backwards?
For a second I thought I was tripping, until I saw the comments on YouTube mocking the title. Folks are big mad, and all up in the Youtube comments making jokes that “if this does good they’ll release ___” naming other kid stories we know, but switching around the title. Lol (Like below.)
Which one of these would you go see? Lol
- The Pigs of 3 Little
- Robin and Batman
- The Seven Dwarves and Snow White
- Boots in Puss
It’s hilarious and I totally get the frustration, but listen, I’m not about to comment on the name switch when men ALWAYS come first in the Entertainment industry.
I’ma just take this small win and bow out.
Seriously, I’m out!
This ‘Gretel and Hansel’ trailer review is over. Peace! Lol
