Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to see Nia Long, Omar Epps, and Stephen Bishop in the new Fatal Affair Netflix movie. (Mostly Nia!) The last movie I watched starring Ms. Long was The Banker (which was great by the way). But this new Netflix movie feels all too familiar, and after watching the Fatal Affair trailer I’m not sure if I’m excited to see this.
I feel like this ‘affair gone bad’ story has been told over and over and over again.
How many more times can we REALLY tell this story without it beginning to feel like a waste of talent? I’m not sure, but I guess we’ll all find out in a few days since Fatal Affair premieres on Netflix on July 16th.
I will say though … after all the cute rom coms I’ve seen these two in (Nia and Omar), it’s kind of hard to take them seriously in a thriller type situation. So I’m really worried about the acting in this.
Oh and this trailer didn’t make me WANT to see this movie, if anything it made me not wanna see it? But I’ll be watching it tonight or tomorrow so you can expect a review up bright and early Thursday morning. I’ll let you know if this one is worth the watch.
(P.s – If you don’t already know I hate thrillers and horror movies, so bear with me. I rarely ever watch them. I’m only watching this one because Nia Long, duh!)
