Here’s A Tip: Don’t Watch Dave Chappelle’s New Netflix Special If You’re Easily Offended

Disclaimer: The first paragraph may offend you if you don't curse. You can TOTALLY skip it if reading the F word multiple times is going to bug you. But if the F word bugs you that much, then you coulda just stopped at the title of this post and saved yourself the trouble!

Now, I’m not sure why I have to actually give you a disclaimer for a Dave Chappelle special, when it’s fucking Dave Chappelle! However, I understand that the world is a tad bit more sensitive now than it was when the Dave Chappelle show was out.

I also understand that Dave Chappelle isn’t the forefront of comedy anymore, so maybe people forgot who the fuck he was! But let this be a reminder that this is fucking Dave Chappelle we’re talking about here! What the FUCK did you guys think you were going to get? Pretty ponies and rainbows? Seriously?

Everyone is upset about this new Netflix special and I’m just like … wow I got through the entire thing and I didn’t absolutely hate it? Awesome dude! Lol Like it’s fucking comedy! It’s not supposed to be cute!

It’s supposed to be a mockery of real shit happening in the world and you’re supposed to see the irony in it and laugh! It’s the irony of things that makes shit funny. And from what I’ve seen, isn’t that what comics, especially black comics, have always done?

Honestly, if you think about a joke hard enough, it’s gonna offend someone, if not everyone and that’s exactly what Dave Chappelle does in Sticks and Stones, he offends everyone! Yes the suicide joke was risky. No suicide isn’t funny! But guess what?

Most of the shit Dave Chappelle said is the shit your friends are probably saying to each other, that they’d just NEVER say out loud in public because they know this is what would happen if they did.

This doesn’t show how “bad” this special is, but here’s a little snippet of Dave Chappelle’s special anyway:

Listen, if I had PAID to see this set I would have been happy! Like, I would have gotten my money’s worth because this shit is funny! Like seriously funny! (Some of it is a bit …. ahhhh, might have been too soon for that joke, but it’s still funny.)

Hell, someone’s phone rang during the show and everyone literally said ohhhh like they were in high school tryna be the class clown and shit, and Dave Chappelle was ACTUALLY the grown up for once and told everyone to shut up because the “nigguh probably has a babysitter”. Lol So he told him to answer his phone. Lol

See Dave Chappelle isn’t this insensitive asshole of a person, okay I’m sorry he is, BUT I’ve seen folks respond not so kindly to people’s phones ringing during shows. So for him to understand that it could literally just be someone who really needs their phone, reminds me that this man is a comic and the shit he says is just a joke. Take it at face value will ya!

Like this joke for instance, Dave Chappelle basically said in one of his jokes that when a kid doesn’t like school he should try a few different things: (1) skip school, (2) try drugs, (3) NOT shoot up the place.

As you can tell this is a joke about the school shootings. Is school shootings funny? Nope! Is this JOKE funny? Yup! Because when you think about it, is Dave REALLY telling kids they should skip school or do drugs? NO! But what he’s saying is, those are better alternatives, and honestly those are the options some of us chose when we didn’t wanna go to school, instead of shooting up the place!

So what I’m trying to say is … if you have a problem with Dave Chappelle’s special, don’t watch it! It’s fine! But you also don’t get to sit here and complain about a man that y’all already knew was blunt AF and holds nothing back when it comes to his comedy sets.

I would say you should just “watch it and see” but the very first joke is the suicide joke, and if you’re easily offended you’re probably not gonna make it past the first 5 minutes? So yeah, don’t bother! Lol (Here’s a tip – watch Man like Mobeen instead! It’s SUPER funny and not offensive AT ALL! Lol)

But for those of us that AREN’T so bothered, like the few of you that made it to the end of this post despite me saying fuck so damn much at the beginning, which is something I usually don’t do, you guys will be just fine! Lol And YOU should watch it! Because this thang is FUN-NY! Whew.
