Y’all Don’t Think It’s Crazy Netflix Is Using AI To Catfish Folks In Season 6 Of “The Circle”?

Like … what in the AI is going on here? Netflix’s hit series “The Circle” is back with Season 6 and apparently, AI is taking over everyone’s favorite reality show?

Now, I don’t know who thought we needed to add AI into every area of our life … but here we are. We’ve seen AI images of people, AI copying music and sound by some of our favorite artists and now they have infiltrated our reality TV?!

Was this on your bingo for 2024? Because it wasn’t in mine!

But let’s get into the tea of it all.

Wait, Is Netflix Really Using An AI Bot In Season 6 Of “The Circle”?

Spoiler Alert – If you haven’t seen “The Circle” Season 6 episodes 1, 2, 3, or 4 yet, this article will spoil things a bit. But you can totally read this. Unless you loathe all kinds of spoilers. In that case, bookmark this joint and wait until you’ve seen the episodes.

Yup, they’re really using AI in Season 6 … but I have no clue why!

AI could be fun if it were used for one episode only, and/or used to stir things up a bit.

But everything is extremely calculated and it takes away from the game. The AI bot even studied past seasons and learned how to finesse the game! I won’t lie to you, it is different.

However — the cast is eating up this calculated persona!

I just don’t think AI can replace human people who also have human errors, love, and emotional responses. Which is part of what makes this show! People being … people.

I also don’t think “The Circle” would survive if it was all AI. It would be so robotic (pun intended) that it would be a snore to watch.

And when it comes to Season 6, I would say AI didn’t really make it better.

So put it back, and quit touching stuff.

If you’ve never seen “The Circle” …

It’s like “Love is Blind” meets a popularity contest, by way of a social experiment, and competition show — all wrapped in one … to win $100,000.

The gag is they only see a profile picture of each other on a screen and a bio they created. They don’t meet unless they get kicked off or make it to the end.

“The Circle” Season 6 is hosted by …

What In The AI Is Going On The Circle Season 6

Comedian/Actress Michelle Buteau who I adore, and would’ve been pissed if they replaced her with AI because AI could never! Oh, and this season takes place in the A (Atlanta).

Here’s a look at the Season 6 Cast (AI Included)

Top L: Cassie Middle: Quori-Tyler Bottom R: Caress

Cassie, 29 from Kentucky — is a newly engaged (and previously divorced) mom of two kids, a future bonus mom to 3 kids, and country to her core. I love her thick accent.

Plus, she seems pretty cool and laid back.

Quori-Tyler, 26 from LA — is a SUPERFAN of “The Circle”, a former NBA Lakers dancer, and single. She has a very dancer/cheerleader type of personality that I love.

Caress, 37 from Dallas — is a motivational speaker, and by far the biggest person that gets on my damn nerves. She is catfishing the crew by playing her little brother who happens to currently be a famous rapper on TikTok. (You’ll have to watch the show to see who it is!)

But she comes across like she’s trying too hard and hella corny.

Top L: Myles Middle: Kyle Bottom R: Brandon

Myles, 29 from LA — who likes to go by Yung Papi Fuego *insert eye roll here* is single, and a legit party boy. He is cocky AF, A bit obnoxious, and gives off F*CK BOY VIBES! But he’s also an AI engineer and a Carnegie Mellon alumni.

Too bad, I am instantly irritated whenever he shows up on my screen.

Kyle, 31 from the 305 (Miami) — plays professional basketball overseas. The cutest thing about him for me is that he brought his dog! She is so pretty and cute, and it’s fun to watch them together. He’s catfishing as a basketball trainer (not a baller), and although he is married, he’s playing single on the show.

Brandon, 34 from Columbus — is a nursing assistant and 100% gay, despite catfishing these folks by playing Olivia who is one of his girlfriends. He has a friendly demeanor about himself but also likes to have a good time.

Top L: Steffi Middle: Max aka AI Bottom R: Lauren

Steffi, 35 from California — is a psychic medium and … strange. She is a very quirky person and brought her emotional support skeleton Herbert to the game. Girl, what!

Max, 26 from the Midwest — is a veterinary intern and an open-source artificial intelligence chatbot aka our AI bot. “Max” has researched older seasons of “The Circle” to take his game to the next level. He also has an adorable dog in his profile that instantly made people like him. Smart move Max, smart move!

Lauren, 26 from Philly — is a self-proclaimed nerd, a big PC gamer, cosplayer, and has great energy. But she’s totally forgettable in this season, with so much else going on.

Now I’m curious to hear your perspective of the first 4 episodes of “The Circle” Season 6, which is now streaming on Netflix.

Do you think it’s crazy that Netflix is using AI to catfish the other players??
