Y’all I found the cutest photo (below) with Disney’s upcoming slate of movies to be released in 2024, 2025, and 2026 on Twitter this week!
But when I posted it in the Black Disney Moms Facebook Group, asking the girls what they were most excited about — a lot of folks stopped to ask “who TF is Elio?” And, sadly I couldn’t answer that question either. Not without looking at my emails.
So I did some research (aka sifted through the emails Disney has sent me over the last few months) and compiled a list of their upcoming movies.
This way, none of us will be confused when they’re dropped. Because let’s be honest, the marketing has been a little dull lately, but that’s why I write about movies right?
And some of these look great! Like Zootopia 2, and Inside Out 2. I just know my girl Anxiety is gonna be my fave! But do we really need a Frozen 3, or Toy Story 5?
Because who the hell are those even for?
Anywho … without further ado, here’s a list of the …
Upcoming Disney Movies

Inside Out 2, Releases June 14, 2024
Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up.
And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as the voice of Joy. The voice cast also includes Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Tony Hale, and Liza Lapira. The film is directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen.

Elio, Releases June 13, 2025
For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers. In Disney and Pixar’s all-new movie “Elio,” the universe calls back!
The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide.
Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
Directed by Adrian Molina (screenwriter and co-director of “Coco”) and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of “Coco”), the film features the voices of America Ferrera as Elio’s mom, Olga; Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa; Brad Garrett as Ambassador Grigon; and Yonas Kibreab as the title character.

“TRON: Ares” is a follow-up to Disney’s 1982 seminal science fiction film “TRON” and the 2010 sequel, “TRON: Legacy”; and follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
The feature film stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, with Gillian Anderson. Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Steven Lisberger are the producers, with Russell Allen serving as executive producer.
