“Severance” S2 E1 Recap: 13 Of The Most Insane Moments + 6 Questions We Still Have

Sooooo … I finally finished watching “Severance” Season 2 Episode 1 and I can’t believe we still know NOTHING new! WTF man!! They insist on dragging this show out, huh? And of course, we all just keep watching it anyway!

Now I haven’t written a single post about Severance aside from the Season 1 Episode 7 recap I wrote in 20 f*cking 22! But since we’ve all been good little employees and we continue to faithfully watch this series each week, I’ll be sure to do a better job recapping this second season! Because we need to talk about this shit!

Severance Season 2 Episode 1 Recap + Questions We Still Have

Spoiler Alert – If you’re not all the way caught up with Severance Season 2 Episode 1 yet, this recap will spoil a lot. So if you loathe all kinds of spoilers, bookmark this joint and wait until you’re all caught up.

1. More Confusion, Please

• Y’all the camera work in Severance Season 2 Episode 1 is so damn insane! Are we not confused ENOUGH Ben?!! What more do you want from me!

2. Goats, Anyone?

• Remember those goats from last season? Where TF did they go? They were mentioned in the 3 min Season 1 recap, so clearly they have to be important! But they still haven’t told us anything! WTH were they even for?

3. Don’t blink or You’ll Miss It

• The attention to detail in this series is borderline Beyonce-level insanity! I had to rewind just to catch the word “Wellness” written on the door. Like baby, why is that print so faint? I’m already blind enough damn it!

4. Who TF Was That?!

• Is anyone gonna tell us who that mysterious figure standing in the hallway is? Or do I have to go find out my damn self? Because excuse me, who are you and what do you want baby!!?

5. Meet the New Team

• They’ve replaced our old employees and I’m as distraught as Mark S is at the moment. Because who are these people? And why are you here!!

6. Mr. Milkshake’s Got a Promotion

• Not gonna lie … I like the name Mr. Milkshake, way more than Mr. Milchick, so that’s what I’ll be calling him from now on. But kudos to our main guy for getting a promotion and taking Ms. Cobel’s job! Look at the Black man large and in charge baby! Even brought his employee balloons on their first day. He’s so sweet.

7. Mark’s Upgrade

• Speaking of promotions, Mark S is no longer the Department Chief. So let us all give Mark W a warm welcome — even though we now all despise him because he stole our favorite Mark’s job!

8. Old Team Reunion

• Just when it seemed like we’d never see them together again, the old team makes a dramatic return. But how? And why? No seriously, why! What TF happened! Mr. Milkshake said they didn’t wanna come back??

9. Lumon’s Hiring

• Or at least they were, because now there’s a kid?? Working as a Deputy Manager?!! Is this some sort of sick joke? Was this show not disturbing enough? They had to go hire a whole kid? And let me remind y’all before she has to, Ms. Huang is not one of yo lil’ friends okay? She is your supervisor! Baby said get someone else to play with because I am not one ah them!

10. Waffle Party Where?

• Speaking of unanswered questions, when are we going to get an explanation about the infamous Waffle Party? I need answers people!! Don’t think we forgot about this!!

11. Can’t Teach an Old Dog, New Tricks

• Mark S has taken it upon himself to frame Mark W, but apparently, he forgot to at least try to change his handwriting. Sir! Mr. Milkshake is not with the shits! Stop making that man work so hard. You did post its last season! Everyone knows it’s you baby!

12. Orientation … Gone Wild

• Lumon’s shitty upper management team has decided to create a new (and quite bizarre) orientation video starring the old team. They’ve basically turned their little coup into a joke! I’m guessing they think if they can get ahead of the story when onboarding new team members, they can stop people from boycotting? Who knows!

13. New “Perks” at Lumon

• The rewards have been revamped baby! We’ve now got Pineapple bobbing and hall passes! As if that’s going to distract us from that famous waffle party they still never f*cking explained!! I am intrigued by the pineapples though. Because … who would want to bob for spiky pineapples?? Aside from Dylan G!

14. The Innie Choice

• For the first time ever, innies are getting a chance to choose if they want to stay or leave. But since we can’t trust Lumon not to kill everyone who leaves … the team makes a choice to stay put, for now. Thankfully, because we really don’t need more death right now.

15. Ahha, a Trick?

• When the gang finally gets back together, Mark S. and Dylan G. confirm “it worked”. But what exactly are they talking about?? WHAT WORKED??! Did they plan to disturb the company enough, so they’d all be allowed back in to continue working, aka looking for answers?

16. A New Mystery

• The episode teases a visitation suite for outtie families, hinting at Lumon’s bigger plans. But what are they really up to?

17. Emotional Moments

• Irving’s heartbreak over Burt’s “hot husband” causes him to break down at work where he finally admits to Dylan G that he, “wants the pain to be over”. And I’m truly so sorry for him! He deserves better!

18. Wellness, No More?

• Not only is Ms. Casey missing, but so is everything in the Wellness room! It’s just an empty space now! So what happened?? We know she’s Mark S’s wife, and Mark found out … but where did she go?

19. The One Thing We Did Learn

• How could I forget! We did learn something! Dylan G has a wife, and she has a name! Gretchen. But who is she, and why does that matter? UGHH!

Severance Season 2 Episode 1 Recap Wrap-Up…

So now that we’ve got the team back together, and Season 2 Episode 1 has given us more questions than answers. What’s next for lovebirds Mark + Helly, and the rest of the gang? I wish I knew! But I’m about to go watch the next 5 episodes since Apple TV Plus gave us screeners for eps 1-6, so I can find out!!

But … before I go, did anyone else notice they started calling everyone by their first name AND their last initial, now that there are two Marks? As if we’d be confused. But I wonder why everyone, and not just the Marks?
