Mean Girls On Broadway Is Totally Fetch And A Must See
Last week, my friend Tanay (from BlackGirlViews.com) and I got to see Mean Girls on Broadway and it was great! So great in fact that I kept looking at everyone on stage wondering, “how is this SO GOOD”? Lol
At one point I had to stop and think, “oh right, this is BROADWAY, of COURSE it’s good!” Lol But that still didn’t make me feel better.
I mean, I’ve seen a few Broadway shows now (yes I know how fancy that makes me sound lol). However, I’ve paid for most of the shows I’ve seen.
Again, that clearly doesn’t make this ANY better, but you get my point. Lol I’m not entitled because I’m a blogger, I’m entitled because I’m a millennial who likes expensive things and pays for expensive experiences. Yes, yes. moving right along!
Even though I’ve seen Frozen and ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ on Broadway, I still couldn’t figure out why I was shocked that Mean Girls on Broadway was SO good!
I was CLEARLY used to the excitement of seeing shows on Broadway, and their amazing talent. So why was I so hung up on the fact that THIS was good?
I don’t know! I still haven’t figured that out. Lol But maybe it’s because I went in with such low expectations since I absolutely LOVED the movie?
Because for sure Broadway would mess this up some how right?
But nope! They didn’t!
Mean Girls on Broadway is HILARIOUS!
The new songs they created for the show were awesome!
The cast is OMG talented!
Like when I first started blogging YEARS ago and I wrote that “I hate talented people” blog post, THESE are the kind of people I was talking about. Lol
I’ve seen broadway shows and heard them sing, but OMG these people can SING! Whew! I think that was a BIG reason I was blown away.
However, the transitions from scene to scene were SO on point and SO good that even I was like “god damn it, how’d they do that”. Lol
Like how much work does it take for them to be able to do these switch-a-roos so seamlessly?
The choreography was a tad bit basic but …
That tap sequence was killer! Aw man. That one took me by surprise. Lol I don’t think I’ve ever seen tap in a Broadway show before and it was so good!
They were so perfectly in sync!
Like honestly, they were SO good I kept looking for mistakes! I kid you not! Lol Every time they danced or sang, I looked at everyone on stage like … go ahead, mess up, I dare you. OMG please mess up, how is this so great! Lol
So yeah … Mean Girls on Broadway is TOTALLY worth seeing if you loved the movie and like musicals.
The cast played the characters SO well.
I mean, Reneé Rapp (who played Regina George) was so great at being snobby, but her freaking VOICE is so golden, I couldn’t stop staring at her like “OMG”.
Kate Rockwell (who played Karen Smith) totally had the ditzy girl thing down and it was so funny to watch her play that role.
Krystina Alabado KILLED the Gretchen Wieners role, and Grey Henson was an OUTSTANDING Damian Hubbard. I mean, aw man, and his voice? Ridiculous!
Olivia Kaufmann played Janis Sarkisian and she was great too! My man Cheech Manohar played Kevin Gnapoor and omg I just kept thinking the entire time how much he really FELT like Kevin from the movie.
Loud, obnoxious, inappropriate Kevin! Lol But Reneé, Grey and Cheech were especially amazing and definitely stole the show in my opinion. If you haven’t seen Mean Girls on Broadway yet, make sure you check it out before it leaves!

[…] come in earlier and brushed it off because I couldn’t possibly think of a reason that the Mean Girls Broadway musical would be announcing MAJOR news today. At least nothing important enough that I would have to stop […]
